We're training people all the time. The people who treat us well, as well as the ones who treat us badly, are doing it because we've taught them. The key is to get clear on how we want to be treated, and then to act on it on purpose. We receive what we want by being an example of it, by creating the internal change we want to see externally.
Stop
If we want to let people know that their behavior isn't working and isn't acceptable to us, it doesn't work to rant and rave because it focusses our attention on what we don't want, and the result will be more of it.
Yield
Being unavailable for treatment we don't like will make people stop because what they're doing doesn't work anymore. Not providing the expected like-for-like response will create new actions in us as well as in others.
Start
Acknowledging best behaviors in others teaches them to treat us the way we want to be treated. Whatever we vibe with in others is what will return to us. We get what we want, by being what we want.
