When we think thoughts that cause us to feel afraid and distressed, we’re planning our future. And when we think thoughts that cause us to feel fulfilled and grateful, we’re planning our future.


Micro-examining why we’re where we are will keep us where we are. We’ll benefit more from exploring our motivations and identifying which causes we’ve set in motion. Acknowledging our behavior patterns – without denying, justifying, feeling guilty, or judging them as right or wrong – will cause them to lose power over us.
